This past Friday, students had a fantastic time participating in the Israel Festival! It was wonderful to see both students and parents have such a fun time. Students sang songs in Hebrew, ארץ ישראל שלי participated in fun Israel-themed activities, and we have some pictures on our site showing our lovely students in the midst of completing some fun activities. Students are still learning the Unit on Israel, which includes speaking and recognizing words meant for travelling (by way of airplane), different climates that appear in different areas of Israel, and important sites and cities within the land. On a final note, Grandparent's day is just around the corner, anyone can participate and attend for Grandparent's Day at Sela would be much appreciated and very welcome!
Hello Sela Families! So far, students continue to learn the Hebrew language, and are mainly in the midst of testing in Hebrew. Students are also currently in preparation for the Israel festival at Sela. students will be learning a variety of facts about the country of Israel, how one prepares him or herself for a flight to Israel, including coming up with a list of clothing items, preparing for weather in the different areas of Israel, learning how and what to pack in a suitcase, and creating passports, and we are having a blast learning the lyrics and tunes! to the song ארוחת הבוקר ארץ ישראל שלי
Students learn a new song "breakfast" , where they learned what to eat at breakfast - cucumber, green onions, radishes, jam, milk, bread, omelette, egg, oil and more:) with the linked below,
you can listen with your child and listen to them sing along! ארוחת הבוקר
Students are able to freely verbalize their morning routines now (eat, dress, transportation). Students are now learning to draw out bedrooms, family members in specific rooms, and specific objects that are special to them, and verbalize and label their family members, rooms, and objects with Hebrew words . We continue to learn to recognize Aleph-Bet letters, and are sounding them out. We are constantly learning Hebrew songs and students love and enjoy singing to them. Students are able to write their names, and they are very proud of being able to fully recognize their names in written Hebrew, and can recognize the fist Hebrew letter of each of their names as well as verbalizing what that letter is. When given a certain Hebrew letter, students are able to come up with at least three Hebrew words that begin with that letter. It is a great joy to see the students show such enthusiasm for the subject and the activities we participate for in class
One of the songs we are currently learning is linked below so that you can listen with your child and listen to them sing along. נומי נומי - לכובע שלי - שמח במטבח
